Welcome to Beyond the Basics. While this site is an offshoot of the book Vue 7: Beyond the Basics (available here), it will cover much more than that program. We plan to turn Beyond the Basics into the repository for training materials, tutorials and general information on various 2D and 3D programs, including
• Maxon's Cinema 4D
• Adobe's CS4 Suite
• Smith Micro's Poser
• Daz3D's Daz|Studio
• e-on software's Vue
• Pilgway's 3D Coat
as well as new 2D and 3D programs coming onto the market. In addition, our training will go beyond the basics to also discuss 2D and 3D graphic design principles running the gamut from print to electronic, large format to preparing files for use on portable devices.
We're in our infancy now, and will not officially open until the Vue 7: Beyond the Basics book is released (sometime late April to early May), but we'll be growing. Please take a moment to fill in our short survey (it's anonymous) to let us know what type of training and informational materials you would like to see. Also, let us know if you would be interested in providing any educational resouces such as tutorials or FAQs for others to benefit from. This is going to be your site, so your participation will be critical to its success.
